Hi I'm John and welcome to my home page.
I have been growing cactus and succulent plants for over twenty years man and boy. My interest started with a Mammillaria on the windowsill and now I have two greenhouses full to overflowing. The house also has plants in just about every nook and cranny. This is where my Sansevieria collection is housed now about 188 plants so far.
The picture at the top of the page is of a receptacle born on Dorstenia sp. Lavranos 10341. The flowers of Dorstenia are monoecious . Both male and female flowers are born together in the receptacle. There are no petals on the flowers, they are reduced to just the basic reproductive organs. The seed is embedded in the receptacle and is dispersed with quite some force.
My interest in reptiles notably the snakes goes back to my childhood. I now have a pair of Bull Snakes (Pituophus melanoleucus), pair of Radiated Ratsnakes (Elaphe radiata), a pair Royal (Ball) Python (Python regius, female Russian Sand Boa (Eryx miliaris miliaris), A female Sand Boa (Eryx jaculus), pair of Candoia carinata paulsoni, Lampropeltis pyromelana woodini, female Lampropeltis getula californiae (Albino), Boiga cyanea, Uromastyx acanthinurus (Yellow phase), 1 male 2 female Rankins Dragons (Pogona henrylawsonii).
If you want to use any of the pictures on these pages just ask so I can keep track. If you want them for publication then you will need my permission no problem again just ask. Others have and some of my photographs have been published all I ask here is an acknowledgement.
